Dr. Billingsworth was a scientist who was researching and attempting to weaponise the Rage Virus, and part of a black operation.
Biography[]
Some months after the Original Outbreak of the Rage Virus in Great Britain, Dr. Billingsworth travelled to infected Scotland as part of an American black operation. His objective was to try and develop a new strain of Rage (that gave its hosts the rage and focus, but not the hemorrhaging or mindlessness, that the original strain Clive and Warren had accidentally developed gave the Infected) which could be used as a biological weapon to create super-soldiers.
28 Days Later (comic series)[]
When Clint Harris, Douglas, Selena and Derrick were captured by the Black Ops personnel and taken back to their camp, Dr. Billingsworth tested all of their blood to see whether or not they were Carriers. During Selena's blood test, when he made a snide remark to Selena, she lashed out and broke his nose, prompting the soldiers guarding her to knock her out.
When the blood tests confirmed that the captured survivors were not Carriers, Billingsworth had Selena brought in to be injected with the Rage Virus as an experiment. However, before Billingsworth could inject Selena with the Virus, one of the soldiers mentioned her name. Realising that she was the woman Captain Stiles was after, Billingsworth called Stiles and cancelled the experiment on Selena.
Billingsworth then had Douglas brought in, and injected him with the Rage Virus instead, in front of a horrified Selena. Billingsworth then had Selena put back in detainment with Clint and Derrick, threatening to infect another one of her friends should she act out again, and had the infected Douglas kept alive for observation. Just then, Billingsworth recieved news that a forest fire was approaching the camp. He decided to perform the same experiment on Clint and Derrick as he had done on Douglas, then evacuate the camp with the other personnel.
When Al came to inform Billingsworth that they were ready to evacuate, Selena broke into the lab and gave the infected Douglas a mercy killing. She then took revenge on Billingsworth by splashing Douglas's infected blood in his and Al's eyes. After Selena killed the infected Al, Billingsworth begged Selena to kill him as well as the Infection overwhelmed him. However, a vengeful Selena refused, and left the infected Billingsworth trapped in the lab to rage and die.
Dr. Billingsworth was presumably killed by the forest fire not long after.
Personality[]
Dr. Billingsworth was an amoral and cruel man, who had no qualms over infecting or killing innocent people and even children for nothing more than research. He also had a cruel streak, as he visibly enjoyed the thoughts of leaving Selena to burn to death, and of forcing her to watch her friends become infected.
